چکیده
In this paper, an efficient methodology to retargeting and reuse of embedded mixed-signal blocks is presented. Parametrized layout templates, accurate behavioral modeling of mixed-signal blocks, and appropriate mechanisms for tuning sized circuits to new sets of specs are its key components.

Layout-constrained Retargeting of Analog Blocks
This paper introduces a complete methodology for retargeting of transistor-level circuits to different sets of specifications. By careful integration of the device sizing and layout generation tasks, fully functional designs are generated in a few minutes of CPU time. The methodology is illustrated via the retargeting of a fully-differential Miller-compensated two-stage operational amplifier fo...
متن کاملUniversal Verification Methodology (UVM)-based Random Verification through VCS and CustomSim in Analog Mixed-signal Designs for Faster Coverage Closure
This paper describes application of RTL verification methodology in analog mixed-signal (AMS) designs. Given the increasing complexity of mixed-signal circuits, it is important to increase the volume and variance in stimulus to ensure functional correctness. Lengthy run times of SPICE-based mixed-signal simulations are a significant productivity bottleneck in coverage closure and testplan compl...
متن کاملFitting Second-order Models to Mixed Two-level and Four-level Factorial Designs: Is There an Easier Procedure?
Fitting response surface models is usually carried out using statistical packages to solve complicated equations in order to produce the estimates of the model coefficients. This paper proposes a new procedure for fitting response surface models to mixed two-level and four-level factorial designs. New and easier formulae are suggested to calculate the linear, quadratic and the interaction coeff...
متن کاملA verification methodology for large mixed-signal SoC designs using NanoSim-VCS
With the increased emphasis on trimming production costs and time to market, first-pass silicon success has become a fundamental requirement for system-onchip (SoC) designs. First-pass silicon success can only be achieved through a comprehensive methodology for verifying the functional, timing, and analog/digital signal interface of a design. This article addresses the challenges associated wit...
متن کاملBehavioral modeling of continuous time ∆Σ modulators
A mixed-signal continuous time behavioral model of a continuous time delta-sigma modulator (CT ∆Σ) is presented. CT ∆Σ modulators, by their nature, are mixed-signal systems. That fact creates a discontinuity in the traditional IC design flow which assumes that “discrete” and “continuous” time domain designs require separate design tools. In this work, we present a top level behavioral CT ∆Σ mod...
